Michener Institute Interactive Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Relish was asked to help build a prototype that showcased a hypothetic Electronic Health Record that featured new ways of presenting and manipulating existing data as well as new interaction models for integrating some of their existing vendor applications. Using Adobe AIR, (and some fancy DLL modding from the Michener team) we were able to tie everything together into one visually-rich, fullscreen, multitouch experience.
CT/PET Product
Several types of interaction were showcased in the demo. The "doctor" (user) can drag individual items off the patient record to see more detail. For example, the user can drag both the CT and PET scan items off the chart and on to the body with their finger to have both scans appear. With those two scans open, the user can drag either of them over the other to see the product, a Fusion view.
MultiTouch
In addition to single clicking/dragging, multitouch interaction (popularized by the iPhone) was showcased in the Digital Slide Scan item. By dragging this item over a particular hotspot on the body scan to the right, the user is presented with a popup showing the digital slide scan for that particular region of the body. With this popup, the user can then control the amount of zoom by using two fingers in an opening and closing pinching motion.
Fusion Fly Thru
Probably the most played with feature is the Fusion Fly Thru. While the CT/PET product demo is great for seeing the Fusion product for one static location on the body, the Fusion Fly Thru takes a CT/PET product video and maps it to the body scan on the right allowing the user control a top down scan (passing the through the body from head to toe) by simply dragging their finger across the body scan.
